Genesis 37-50 is about the success of Joseph in Egypt. He was given into slavery by his brothers—jealousy. They went so far as to take his tunic and slaughtered a male goat and dipped the tunic in the blood (Genesis 37:31). The brothers then presented this to their father. They watched their father as he mourned the death of his son, Joseph. Joseph was sold into slavery by Midianites. He was sold to Potiphar, the Pharaoh’s officer, the captain of the bodyguard (Genesis 37: 32-36).
Even being sold into slavery, we are told in Genesis 39:2, “And the Lord was with Joseph, so he became a successful man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian.” Even Joseph’s master saw that the Lord was with him.
We are told in Scripture that Joseph was very handsome in form and appearance. Even Joseph master’s wife took note. She wanted Joseph to lie with her. Joseph denied her saying that his master had trusted him fully over everything in his home. Genesis 39:9, “There is no one greater in this house than I, and he has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do this great evil and sin against God?”
Adultery is sin against God. One of the Ten Commandments not yet given to Joseph. Joseph revered his relationship with God. Joseph could have felt abandoned by God with being given into slavery by his brothers and all that he had endured. Joseph still put God first. Joseph knew that God was with him. God will never leave us. James 4:8, “Move your heart closer and closer to God and He will come even closer to you.”
Each of us are where our Father God wants us to be. Father equips us for what will happen in our lives. Where and what He wants us to be. We are all to do the work of Father-God whether it is as head of a family or to head a company. We are to remember God’s goodness. We are to represent God in our lives—our goodness as only Father God laid the foundation for us when he created the heavens and the earth. The goodness of God covered the earth by the Holy Spirit. We are part of the divine plan—the Creation of God’s Kingdom here on earth.
We must remain faithful to Father God even when we feel abandoned. Don’t ever give up on the Lord. Thankfully Father God has and always will be with us. We are never alone.Don’t ask the question repeatedly—What has God done for me? Why aren’t my prayers answered? Where is God? Why has He abandoned me? Be patient and look around you. Really look and you will see the blessings of God not only around you but within you.
It is within God’s timing not ours. Wait for His direction. Remember we are part of God’s Kingdom here on earth. We are promoting the Kingdom. We are all part of what happened 4000 years ago. Our culture today is exhibiting what happened to Jerusalem when it fell into exile. Not once but multiple times.
In time the mystery will be revealed to everyone with the return of Lord Christ Jesus.
Mark 1:15, “The time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe in the gospel.” These are the first written words of our Lord Christ Jesus. Other Scripture that denotes this: Galatians 4:4, Ephesians 1:10, 1 Timothy 2:6, Titus 1:3, Matthew 3:2, and
Acts 20:21.
Our Lord Christ Jesus wants us to remember always—
The Holy Grace of God our Father given through Him—Lord Christ Jesus.Amen.
